Tracey Newman, Candidate for Glenelg Ward, City of Holdfast Bay

I am Tracey Newman Co-founder and Director of a social innovation consultancy - Impacto Consulting. We work with organisations to increase their social impact by connecting meaningfully with their clients and stakeholders to provide better services to the people they support. I do this work because I am passionate about creating a healthier, more inclusive and fairer Australia.

I happily share my home with Bowie, a border collie and two foster cats Bob-cat and Leaf. I have been vegan for over 10 years as I want to live in a world free of unnecessary suffering. I love the beach and feel very fortunate to enjoy all that the City of Holdfast Bay offers. When not working or at the beach, you will often find me riding with my partner enjoying the great cycling paths or running with one of the running groups along the beachfront before enjoying my favourite part, the coffee at the end at one of the many local coffee shops.

Glenelg is renowned for its beautiful beaches, rich heritage, gorgeous sunsets and popular restaurants and cafes. Being seaside our natural environment is particularly valuable and the threat of climate change and rising sea levels is of particular concern.

We can reduce emissions and increase the health of our community by increasing active transport by providing safe bikeways and walking paths.

By effectively engaging our community and ensuring that they are a vital part of council planning we will create an inclusive and welcoming community that is attractive to residents, tourists and the broader Adelaide population.

Voting in your council election plays an important role in protecting and shaping your local community.

Council elections are postal voting only. Your ballot paper will be mailed to you. Your vote must be received between Friday 14 October 2022 and 5pm Thursday 10 November 2022 - I recommend posting it by Thursday 3 November to ensure it’s received in time.

Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, or would like to share your thoughts and concerns of local issues.
