How to Create Drugs

In the film, scientists explain the limitations of "animal models" in medical research. Then we have 3 speakers who will outline progress on different fronts. Dr Zarina Greenberg will describe her work with organoids grown from human tissue - progress in research methods. Emma Hurst MLC will explain what she has achieved for laboratory animals - political progress. Rachel Smith will examine problems in the current Code of Practice and its implementation. The Code is being reviewed this year and will be open for public consulattion - progress in regulations. Final session: questions and discussion. Lunch included, plus afternoon tea.
