Tanya Hussey for Finniss

Tanya Hussey grew up in South Australia before spending more than two decades in Queensland and Tasmania, returning home in recent years with a renewed commitment to community, environment and animal protection.

For more than twenty years Tanya has been an active environmentalist, spending time in nature and taking part in grassroots environmental actions, including land and marine clean‑ups and efforts to protect native old‑growth forests. She is also a committed contributor to her local community, volunteering with the National Trust, Surf Life Saving Club, Dharma Group, and local conservation reserve. Tanya supports the work of Animals Australia and she is a long‑standing member of the Animal Justice Party.

Over the years, Tanya has been working in the corporate sector in business development, marketing and administration and stakeholder engagement, and brings a professional and commonsense approach to everything she does.

Her vision is for a kinder, more compassionate South Australia—one that confronts environmental, animal and human issues such as the algal bloom, live animal export, duck shooting, greyhound and horse racing, and the cruelty inherent in intensive farming, and addresses them in ways that genuinely benefit animals, people and the planet.

Help Tanya's Campaign

We are a small volunteer organisation in SA which relies on donations from our supporters. Running in elections costs a tidy sum, so we need your help. Your donation will support activities like advertising, printing and the $1,000 candidate deposit to the Electoral Commission of South Australia.

Donation Information

Your donation will support Animal Justice Party's state election campaign. Donations by individuals to political parties of up to $1,500 per financial year may be tax deductible. ATO information page on claiming a tax deduction. It is recommended that you seek independent advice.
